Stairway To Heaven- Appalachian Trail Vernon, NJ

I had the best this time weekend exploring the Appalachian Trail in Vernon, NJ. This post has some tips and information about hiking this trial.

Parking and Logistics:
Parking is across Heaven Hill Farm and the trail marker is white paint.

The Hike:
Stairway to Heaven in Vernon, New Jersey is a gorgeous hike. The steep 2.6 in and out climb leads to a breathtaking vista that is sure to leave your heart full and your spirit inspired. The trail is pretty rocky and you will have to navigate this if you attempt this trail.

Reflections:
For me, being on trail helps bring me into presence and remind me of who I am at my core. I am forever grateful for nature for holding me the way it does. Also so much gratitude to my dearest friend @_true_sun_ . He taught me so much during our hike today. When I sat on the stone with the quartz vein, he explained how the crystal is an amplifier for any emotion. In the moment before he told me this, I was sharing how I am working on forgiving myself for missteps on my messy human journey. Sitting on the quartz vein allowed my intention to amplify and I felt fully supported by the universe. It was magical.

Tips:
I always bring water and snacks with me when I hike. At the top of the climb is a place called Pinwheel Vista. This vista is a series of rocks over looking the land. I loved having a bite to eat and soaking in the sun at this beautiful rest spot. Don’t miss this turn. There is a huge rock pile on your right when climbing up. Turn left away from the rock pile to reach the vista. If you continue on the trail and reach a mailbox, you have gone too far.
