Tasty, Quick & Healthy Indian Chaat
Chaat is a perfect snack or light meal that provides an array of mouth-watering tastes that keep you coming back for more. This healthy recipe is easy to make, adaptable and is so delicious.
Ingredients
- 5-6 boiled, skinned and cubed potatoes
- 2 cans rinsed garbanzo beans
- 1 large red onion
- 2 medium choppped tomatoes or 10 cherry tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Squeeze of lemon
- 1/4 cup yogurt mixed with 1/4 cup of water
- Squeeze of tamarind chutney
- Crispy topping of choice. We used Bombay Bhel Mix. Feel free to sub out for potatoe chips or anythign you may have in your pantry that provides a crunch.
- (Optional Toppings) Chaat Powder, Black Salt, Green Chillies, Pomograntate Seeds, Green Chutney, Tamarind Chutney, and Yogurt
Instructions
- Mix potatoes, garbanzo beans, onion, tomatoes, cilantro, salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, lemon, yogurt mix and tamarind chutney.
- Serve in bowls and add crispy topping of choice. Feel free to add any of the optional toppings to the mix for a more flavorful chaat. Use creative liberty here as chaat is open ended and lends itself well to a vast array of different flavors. Enjoy!
